Ireland head coach Andy Farrell is at the centre of a very real tug-of-war that stretches from Dublin to North London.
According to RugbyPass, Irish rugby bosses are set to sit down with Farrell’s camp this week as they try to fend off a reported £1 million-a-year offer from his old club, Saracens, who are in the market for a new permanent DOR.
That’s a huge sum for a coach whose current contract runs until after the 2027 Rugby World Cup — and one the IRFU likely can’t match.
Saracens’ interest isn’t some half-baked rumour either. The Premiership powerhouse want Farrell to become their long-term director of rugby once the current season concludes — following the announced departure of Mark McCall after 15 trophy-laden years.
