Darragh Fanning’s Reasoning For Leaving Leinster Has Emerged

Leinster revealed yesterday that 29 year-old Darragh Fanning is set to leave the club at the end of the month to pursue interests outside of rugby.

The St. Mary’s winger made his debut in the Pro12 against the Llanelli Scarlets in 2013 and was Leinster’s joint-top try scorer last season with six tries, three of which came in the Champions Cup.

Fanning revealed that it was not an easy decision to walk away from both Leinster and the sport he loved but was excited by the new opportunities that lie in front of him. It has now emerged that Fanning will this Wednesday open the doors to the first branch of Zambrero, the Australian-based Mexican fast food chain that he is bringing to Ireland, hence his reasoning for hanging up his boots.

Located on Hatch Street in Dublin 2, the outlet will be Zambrero’s first European branch.
