Donncha O’Callaghan rarely fails to put a smile on your face and he was in top form once again on Rugby Tonight last night.
When asked about the differences between playing in Ireland with Munster and playing in England with Worcester Warriors, as per usual O’Callaghan had a hilarious, rather unusual answer.
‘Fellas are generous with shampoo over here”
“In Munster if you were offered shampoo, there was something done to it”
What an absolute legend. Sorely missed in Ireland and Munster. Munster for one could really do with a player of his talent, leadership and warmth right now as they find themselves on one of the worst losing streaks in history.
Interesting to note that he also mentioned that he “has the buzz and hunger for rugby again” perhaps suggesting that he has lost that with Munster in recent years. He also stated that he that he did not enjoy his final season with Munster due to a lack of game time. O’Callaghan went further, describing the situation in which he found himself as like being ‘in prison’. It once again begs the question with legends like DOC and huge prospect JJ Hanrahan let go, the man management skills at Munster is not in a good place. Munster are in real trouble.
