Sentenced.
Former All Blacks scrumhalf Byron Kelleher has been found guilty of a domestic violence offence in a Paris court, according to reports in France.
The former Highlanders, Chiefs and Toulouse star, who played 57 times for the All Blacks, received a suspended sentence of six months for domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend.
The incident happened after he returned to France to see his son.
The court found that in June 2023, under the influence of alcohol, Kelleher attacked and hit her in the face and body. She told the court that he dragged her down a corridor, pulling her hair.
“I don’t recognise the facts,” said Kelleher.
“It’s not true.” He also denied that he was drunk and said he does not have “a problem with alcohol.”
Kelleher must also pay a fine of €1,000 as well as €800 in compensation to his former partner.
