Closer to home.
Former Ulster and Ireland outhalf Paddy Jackson is set for a move closer to home having agreed a “long-term contract” with English side London Irish according to a report in the Telegraph.
Jackson has been plying his trade in France this season with Perpignan, who have struggled in the Top 14 this season. And with his current club set to be relegated, and Irish destined for promotion to the Gallagher Premiership – the move makes perfect sense for the 27-year-old.
The 25-times capped international has agreed a “significant deal” with the Championship side that will see him link up with his former Ulster boss Les Kiss, as well as former Ireland head coach Declan Kidney who handed him his debut in green.
Irish are expected to make several high-profile signings as soon as their promotion is secured, as they look to avoid an immediate drop again.
