From bad to worse.

It’s been some fall from grace for winger Teddy Thomas this week. The Racing 92 star has been France’s star man in the Six Nations, bagging a magical try against Ireland, before adding two more against Scotland this past weekend.

But unfortunately for him, Thomas got caught up in an incident in Edinburgh along with seven of his France teammates. The fiasco resulted in a police probe before head coach Jacques Brunel dropped all eight of them from his Six Nations squad for visit of Italy.

Now to make matters even worse, Thomas has been fined by his club Racing 92, for what they call “unsuitable behaviour.”

In a statement issued by the club, they said

“The French Rugby Federation (FFR) has already sanctioned Teddy Thomas by suspending him from the team that will face Italy.

“Racing 92 has opted for a financial penalty against this player retaining his ethics bonus  for the month of February.

“Racing 92 wishes to demonstrate to Teddy Thomas that his unsuitable behaviour following the defeat to Scotland on Sunday, 11 February is not acceptable from a professional and therefore can not be tolerated.”

Along with Thomas, Louis Picamoles, Anthony Belleau, Jonathan Danty, Remi Lamerat, Felix Lambeywere, Alexandre Lapandry and Arthur Iturria were all dropped by France on Tuesday.
