Scottish police are currently questioning members of the French rugby team about an alleged fight in Edinburgh last night, according to reports.
L’Equipe are reporting that the squad’s specially chartered plane home is currently stuck on the tarmac at Edinburgh Airport. The French party were due to fly back to Paris today in the wake of yesterday’s 32-26 Six Nations defeat to Scotland at Murrayfield.
More details are now starting to emerge on the incident. Seven French players are reportedly being questioned by the police regarding the incident, including Louis Picamoles, Teddy Thomas, Ben Arous and Arthur Iturria.
The scene of alleged player/ fan brawl was bar at the Tigerlily boutique hotel. The French players were on a night out was sanctioned by team management.
Reports suggest the “France 7” may have to remain in Edinburgh with an FFR official, with remainder of squad allowed to fly home.
