Injury blow.
Donnacha Ryan will not get to play against his former club Munster in Thomond Park next month. His new side Racing 92 have once again been drawn in the same pool as the southern province, but Ryan will have to sit out the clash in Limerick next month due to injury.
The second-row is yet to make his debut for the French side, with many people curious as to why this is the case. It turns out Ryan is suffering from neck and shoulder injuries, and won’t be available until late November/early December.
This also means Ryan will not feature for Ireland in the upcoming November internationals. Question marks have surrounded his international future in recent months, but it now looks like we’ll have to wait until at least the Six Nations to see if Schmidt will still consider him for selection.
