Watch: All Blacks Prop Roasts NZ Journalist But It Turns Out He Was Right!

Can’t wait to see the follow-up.

All Blacks loosehead prop Kane Hames got into a bit of an altercation with New Zealand rugby journalist Marc Hinton this week that made for some hilarious viewing.

Basically Hinton made a note in his match preview that Hames wasn’t exactly ‘renowned’ for his scrummaging ahead of his All Blacks debut and, Hames didn’t take too kindly to it.

“I read an article today that said I’m not a renowned scrummager, so when I’m not scrummaging I guess I’ll just be trying to win the battle in the air and work on my speed in the outside channels,” said Hames
“My mindset in this environment is never about proving anyone wrong, it’s about putting processes and systems in place to make sure everything goes right. I know your job is to write a whole lot of things.
“We’ve got to do a whole lot of research to make sure we get it right, and it would be great if you could too.”

The All Blacks ended up racking up a record 57-0 win over the Boks, but despite this, Hames was rather poor and got hauled off after just 43 minutes. Why you say? Because of a number of scrummaging infringements above all else.

The NZ Herald gave him a rating of 5, while Stuff gave him a measly 4. Looking forward to seeing what happens the next time these two meet in a press conference.
