Welcome back LADS to another edition of the LADdown- your weekly rugby round-up!
To all our new readers the LADdown does exactly what it says on the tin and that’s all the weeks rugby results wrapped up in a nice tidy package! We do tend to take the absolute p*ss some of the time… well most of the time to be fair, but hey! We’re RugbyLAD! Our tagline is #ladswithballs for crying out loud! Anyway enough of the introductions, here’s what happened this week:
First off let’s start with some Guinness PRO10 + 2 Italian sides or Guinness PRO12 for short!
It was a good week for the Irish (well except Leinster!) as Munster beat Zebre with Zebo, Ulster beat Cardiff in their own backyard and Connacht recorded a massive upset defeating current holders Leinster at the Sportsground. Scotland may not have gained independence this week but Glasgow continued their impressive start by beating the Dragons at Rodney Parade, Edinburgh however didn’t impress so much… Wrapping up the weekend of PRO12 was Ospreys, who destroyed the poor Italian whipping boys Treviso by 43-0.
Up next let’s take a look at the EnglishLADS over in the Aviva Premiership:
Bath recorded the a** whooping of the weekend by trashing Leicester while Sale weren’t too far behind against… sigh… London Welsh (starting to feel a bit sorry for these LADS) with another beatdown laid upon the Welsh. Wasps were left without their sting versus Harlequins, while Saracens left it very late against the London Irish. Newcastle were left still searching for a win this season as they went down to the Saints.
Newcastle Falcons fans have taken matters into their own hands as a result of their 3 losses from 3 and started this online campaign to remove Alan Pardew, apparently it’s his fault for the Falcons poor form also.
Up next it’s our favourite rundown of the week, it’s Top 14 time!
It’s time for another round of cash vs more cash, chequebook versus chequebook with more zeros, gold card versus platinum card… you get the picture.
Toulouse didn’t make it to the bank on time Friday, Racing on the other hand only deal in cash. Clermont brought the yacht with them to Lyon. Montpellier rolled up in the Bentley versus Stade Francais and Toulon flew the jet in versus Brive. In the rugby Grenoble had a super win versus Bayonne, 2013 champions Castres beat Oyonnax and Bordeaux beat La Rochelle in a thriller.
There was no Rugby Championship this week as the Southern Hemisphere boys took a break.
Worth mentioning though that one Aaron Cruden seemed to enjoy the break a little too much…
That’s all we’ve got for this week LADS! We’ll be back again next week!
