The human wrecking ball is back.
France have been hit with a double injury blow in the centre with the news that Wesley Fofana and his replacement Henry Chavancy are both now out injured.
Head coach Guy Noves has now been forced to reveal his hand, by calling up his third choice centre, and human wrecking ball, in the form of Mathieu Bastareaud. The monster centre has been overlooked for the last few French squads, dropping down the pecking order with his national side.
He has however been in fine form for Toulon this season, reminding us why he was one of the most feared centres in world rugby not too long ago. Bastareaud last played for France against the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup quarter final back in 2015.
