The Rugby Championship- Round 3 Round-Up

This weekend saw Round 3 of the Rugby Championship take place. No real surprises with The All Blacks making it three out of three and The Wallabies continuing to struggle. Check out the report’s from both games below…

New Zealand made it three wins from three in the Rugby Championship with a 28-13 success over Argentina at a wet Waikato Stadium on Saturday.

Kieran Read delivered an inspirational performance to break Argentina’s spirit, demonstrating his handling skill, vision and patience in creating two tries at vital times to make light of difficult conditions caused by drizzle throughout the game.

Victory was tinged with concern, however, for the All Blacks as Richie McCaw suffered a knee injury that puts him out for the remainder of the Championship.

Australia remain without a win in this year’s Rugby Championship after going down to a 38-12 defeat against South Africa in Brisbane.

Coenie Oosthuizen, Jean de Villiers, Zane Kirchner and Willie Le Roux all scored tries and Morne Steyn kicked 18 points to give South Africa their first Test victory on Australian soil since 2009.

Australia, who lost their opening two games of the tournament to New Zealand under new coach Ewen McKenzie, mustered only four Christian Lealiifano penalties and sit bottom of the Rugby Championship table without a point after three rounds.
