Ireland’s Rugby World Cup 2023 bid was formally launched this morning with the aid of a chilling video narrated by actor Liam Neeson.
France, South Africa and Ireland are the three nations being considered to host the historic tournament, and will battle it out over the next year with World Rugby set to make their final decision in November 2017.
According to projections, a winning bid could be worth somewhere in the region of a whopping €800 million to the Irish economy,
“Imagine a tournament the envy of the world, a festival of rugby,”
“More than participation. Celebration. A world of memories for the world to share.
“We’re ready to create something unforgettable.”
Can Ireland do it? We certainly hope so. No doubt there’s no country of fans more deserving.
