The gift that just keeps on giving.
Nigel Owens has carved a reputation for himself as one of the greatest referee’s the world of rugby has ever seen. He’s also notorious for his brilliant one-liners and no-nonsense attitude.
This past weekend, Northampton pulled off a last-gasp victory over French giants Montpellier thanks to a penalty in the final seconds from playmaker Stephen Myler.
In the first half however, Myler was unfairly distracted my South African Francois Steyn as he attempted to covert Northampton’s opening try.
Steyn charged down the kick the kick as he made his run-up, but just before the English fly-half struck the ball, he shouted ‘Miss!’ and the effort went sailing to the right.
The crowd was not impressed and thankfully Nigel Owens spotted it straight away, immediately called for the penalty to be retaken and gave Steyn a good talking to on the pitch.
Check it out below.
That told him! @MHR_officiel‘s @fsteyn12 is reprimanded by ref @Nigelrefowens for some ungentlemanly conduct. https://t.co/QgchRu34hy
