Keith Wood fancies Connacht to come away with something this weekend as they open up their Champions Cup account.
Connacht face the difficult task of hosting three-time winners of the tournament, Toulouse at the Sportsground but the former Ireland captain is optimistic.
Wood was talking on Off The Ball tonight and had this to say about the PRO12 champions,
“They were two or three weeks behind everybody else in their preparation this season and ultimately they were going to get it right,”
“The fact and the manner in which they’ve got it right over the last two weekends has been phenomenal actually and their performance last weekend was pretty incredible.
“They weren’t perfect against Edinburgh and last week either [against Ulster]. But they played with that pure energy – enough to win those games.
Will it be enough to win this game at the weekend? It could very well be and I would hold out an element of optimism for Connacht this weekend.”
