Former Wales and Lions legend, Shane Williams is heading back to where it all started for him at Amman United.
Shane Williams is set for another rugby comeback – with his home village club Amman United RFC. The former World Player of the Year has been drafted in by United as a player-coach as they seek to reverse a tough few seasons. Williams hasn’t played since his Japanese adventure with Mitsubishi Dynaboars ended at the start of last year.
I’m helping out with the coaching and will play the odd cameo,” Williams confirmed.
“I think I’m on a free jug of beer for every hat-trick I score!”
The former Ospreys winger has kept himself super-fit, competing in numerous triathlons, this year’s London Marathon and also completing a gruelling Ironman event.
Amman United have endured a series of relegations in recent seasons. They were relegated last season from Division Two West last term, finishing second from bottom. [Wales Online]
