Aviva Premiership side London Wasps have announced the signing of experienced centre Ben Jacobs, who returns to the Premiership club from Super 15 outfit the Western Force.
Jacobs first joined Wasps in 2009 and made an immediate impact in his first season, making 33 appearances.
His second season with Wasps was equally successful from a personal perspective as he made 24 appearances, scored six tries, and was awarded try of the season for his effort against Newcastle Falcons.
He left the club in 2011 to join Japanese side Kyuden Voltex where he spent nearly two seasons before migrating back to Australia to join Western Force. Jacobs recently started for Western Force in the final game of the Super Rugby season against the Brumbies.
“Ben’s experience will be a big asset for us this season,” said London Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young.
“Losing Lee Thomas to retirement was a real disappointment for both ourselves and the players recently but Ben will come into that midfield mix and do a very good job for us.
“He knows the club inside out and was very keen to come back here so we’re looking forward to him joining up with us again.”
