Peter O’Mahony is back.
The fearless Munster captain was back to his very best last night as Munster ruthlessly destroyed their Welsh counterparts Ospreys, 33-0 at Irish Independent Park in what many are describing on of their most complete performances in years.
Two tries and a sensational man of the match display from loosehead Dave Kilcoyne, along with further scores from Darren Sweetnam, Ronan O’Mahony and Robin Copeland sealed the deal for the southern province, who now sit top of the PRO12. Kilcoyne’s performance in particular will surely not have gone unnoticed after the former Ard Scoil man missed out on Ireland selection last week.
O’Mahony led by example himself and showed once again he is no ordinary man, with a fearless lineout catch that resulted in him landing dangerously on his head. After a couple of seconds, the referee brought the proceedings to a brief halt, presuming O’Mahony to be in danger following the fall, only to see the 27-year-old Munster captain rise from beneath the remnants of the lineout, with a look of confusion as to why the game was stopped at all.
What a machine. Cannot wait to see this man back in the Irish team for the remainder of the November series. (Clip via Balls.ie)
