Wales Scrumhalf Gareth Davies Makes Bold Claim Ahead Of Ireland Game

Bonus-point.

Scrumhalf Gareth Davies claims Wales are not only capable of beating Ireland this weekend, but he’s confident they have enough to secure a try-bonus.

The Scarlets man has been in fine form this season, and says it’s great that Wales have so many players back fit. The likes of Leigh Halfpenny, Liam Williams and Dan Biggar all return to the starting line-up this weekend

“It is the first time in a while we have had a lot of boys back,” Davies told Sky Sports

“It is good to have such a big squad to select from. It is a headache for the coaches I am sure but is a good thing for us.

“We have some big names coming back into the squad so hopefully they can add a bit of experience.

“It is a massive game we are looking forward to.”

Davies says every point counts this weekend, and his side are “more than capable” or scoring four tries against Ireland, securing the bonus-point in the process.

“Each point is very important with this new scoring system,” Davies added.

“We came away with a losing bonus point against England last weekend so hopefully when it comes down to the final weekend of the Six Nations that could be crucial for us.

“We are targeting a bonus-point win this weekend against Ireland so hopefully we can score some tries and come away with a good win.

“With players we have got I think we are more than capable of doing that.”
