Munster supporters could really do with some good news.

Three losses on the trot, including a first home defeat to Connacht in 29 years and a humbling home defeat to Leicester in the Champions Cup leaves Munster’s season potentially in tatters before it’s really begun.

There was some good news last week with current captain CJ Stander and flanker Tommy O’Donnell committing their futures to the club. Simon Zebo’s future still remains to be seen, with a move to France highly likely at the moment judging by his recent comments.

Scrumhalf Conor Murray has told reporters however he is edging towards an extension, once the terms can be agreed.

Murray said, “This is a great club, a great set-up. It’s my home and there’s an unbelievable set-up here. It’s almost a no-brainer, I’d love to continue playing here.”

The 26-year-old says negotiations are ongoing but ‘on the backburner’ until the Champions Cup fixtures are fulfilled.

He added, “Maybe after Europe, we’ll look at finishing it off and getting it done so I don’t see too many problems with myself. I love playing here, I love playing in Ireland and I want to continue doing that so.”

Murray also stated his desire to be part of a Munster team that ‘does something’ in Europe.
