The Official World Rugby Rankings Are Out – And Ireland Have Made History

All Blacks in sight.

Joe Schmidt’s Ireland continue to soar in the World Rugby Rankings following their third Test series win over the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday.

The men in green picked up 0.92 of a point to further secure second place in the rankings behind an All Blacks side that gained no reward for their third straight win over France.

The increase means Ireland have now created a special piece of history, crossing the 90-point mark for the first time ever. They are now only just over three points behind the All Blacks with a fixture to come against Steve Hansen’s men in November.

England meanwhile, have climbed back up to fourth in the world thanks to their 25-10 win over South Africa on Saturday, just a .26 of a point behind third-placed Wales.

Australia and South Africa have dropped down to 5th and 6th respectively as a result of their defeats.
