The Latest Injury News From The Irish Rugby Camp

Ireland v Wales - RBS Six Nations Rugby Championship 2016

Ireland take on France this Sunday in Paris and there’s mixed news on the injury front.

Fergus McFadden has been drafted in as cover for Keith Earls who is a huge doubt for Saturday after he suffered a concussion in the bruising encounter with Wales. He passed the initial Head Injury Assessment but later showed symptoms meaning he had to pass the return to play protocols this week.

The good news however is Tommy O’Donnell, Rob Kearney and Sean O’Brien are back in training and will hope to feature this weekend. Schmidt will have a selection dilemma with his backrow if both O’Donnell and O’Brien return to full fitness.

Cian Healy and Mike Ross remain out of the squad. They are regarded as being ‘in the mix’ but they have yet to return.
