If you can catch a tennis ball…
The Lions continued their preparations in Dublin today with some rather unorthodox handling drills. The players were using tennis balls among other small objects to get their handling skills up to the kind of level required in New Zealand.
The All Blacks are famous for having some of the best handling skills in the business and it’s why their offloading game is so effective. Not only can they get the pass out no matter what situation their in, they also have the hands to keep the ball alive.
If the Lions are to succeed in New Zealand there can be no margin for error. Getting the basics rights and doing them well will make all the difference.
