The 2019 Rugby World Cup is just over one year away, with the All Blacks looking to retain their title for an unprecedented third time in-a-row.

Steve Hansen’s men are the bookies favourites for Japan, with some offering odds as low as 10/11 for them to retain the William Webb Ellis Cup. But Joe Schmidt’s Ireland are breathing down their necks in terms of the World Rugby Rankings, and according to the bookmakers.

Ireland are as low as 4/1 now with the majority of bookies, with punters clearly starting to see the men in green as serious challengers, despite their poor Rugby World Cup record over the years, having never gotten beyond a quarter final.

Traditional powerhouses Australia and South Africa can be got at around 7/1 and 12/1 respectively, while Eddie Jones’ England are still just 6/1 with most bookmakers, despite their recent run of poor form.

France and Wales can be got at as 25/1 if you fancy either as an outside bet. Who is your money on?
