The IRFU have today announced the appointment of Nick Winkelman as Head of Athletic Performance and Science. Nick will commence work at the IRFU from the 1st April, 2016.
Winkelman joins the IRFU from the US based company EXOS where he held the position of Director of Education and Training Systems. As a performance coach, he has been running the EXOS NFL Combine development program for the last seven years. In his ten years at EXOS, Nick has supported a diversity of athletes across sport (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) and the armed services.

Winkelman has worked with the likes of AJ Green, Odell Beckham, JJ Watt and Robert Griffin III. Massive news for Irish rugby and a clear statement of intent from the union.
