Ireland Set For History Making World Rugby Rankings Boost

On top of the world (almost).

It’s been a pretty decent year for Irish Rugby all things considered. A clean sweep in November, Six Nations Grand Slam and a series win over Australia are among their remarkable accolades this year.

And their form has been deservedly rewarded in terms of their position in the World Rugby Rankings. Ireland are now firmly placed as the second best team in the world – and by some distance.

Today’s victory will see Ireland move above 90 points in the first time in their history, relegating Australia to fifth in the process. They’re now just three points behind World Champions New Zealand, with a Test to come against Steve Hansen’s side in November.

Not bad at all. Onwards and upwards.
