Ireland Captain Rory Best Has A Message For Warren Gatland

See you Saturday.

Ireland captain Rory Best has a message for Wales boss Warren Gatland, after he came out this week and said Ireland are not the best team in the Six Nations.

Gatland said current holders England are the team to beat, and suggested that Ireland have done too much to impress this year so far. He says they managed to only ground out a win in Paris over France, before dispatching of minnows Italy.

“England are a tough outfit.” Gatland said

Ireland ground out a win away against France and that game showed us you have to keep your discipline against Ireland and I feel our discipline over the first two games has been excellent,”

Best says he hopes Ireland will be able to changed Gatland’s mind with their performance on Saturday. Even if they don’t, but still come away with a win, he says Ireland won’t be all that bothered.

“We’ll hope that through our performances tomorrow that we can change his mind,” said Best.

“If it doesn’t change his mind but we win we’ll not really be that bothered.”

Best is set to become Ireland’s most capped forward this weekend, leapfrogging Paul O’Connell with 109 caps. But it’s also a big day for Gatland who will take charge of Wales for the 100th time. The Ireland captain says it’s a fantastic feat. But he did note he hopes Gatland will have to wait until game 101 for a win to celebrate it.

“To stay for 100 caps at this level is a fantastic feat, and I think we’re very quick to praise players when it happens, so for a coach to be around long enough to do that is a brilliant achievement,” said Best

“And hopefully he can get a win in his 101st game to celebrate that,”
