Former Aviva Premiership Star Signs NFL Contract

NFL bound.

Former Worcester Warriors lock Christian Scotland-Williamson has been signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program ahead of next season.

The program, instituted in 2017, aims to provide international athletes the opportunity to compete at the NFL level, improve their skills, and ultimately earn a spot on an NFL roster.

The giant lock quit rugby union in a surprise move back in December – but it appears the move has paid off, with the Englishman given a chance to prove himself in America.

“This a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me and one that I simply can’t turn down. I’m incredibly excited about testing myself and trying to get on the team roster at an NFL club.” Scotland-Williamson said back in December.

We wish him all the best.
