Joe Schmidt may not have taken BOD’s advice in including Garry Ringrose in Ireland’s Six Nations squad, but the former Leinster and Ireland centre is confident as to who will comprise Schmidt’s first choice midfield in the coming months.
When asked on Twitter if he thought McCloskey might be set for a first cap in Ireland’s Championship opener against Wales at the Aviva Stadium a week from Sunday, O’Driscoll’s answer was resounding.
The legendary centre is of the opinion that Schmidt will revert to the centre pairing he has favoured since O’Driscoll retired from the international game almost two years ago.
@Chasingsows13 he won’t be. Henshaw & Payne to start. He’ll probably get capped at some stage over the 8 weeks.

@Chasingsows13 I know he’s playing Payne at 13 so it doesn’t really matter what the country thinks.
